Shanghai airport terminals to start anti-terrorism security checks from Aug 15
As of Aug 15, all terminals at Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao international airports will start anti-terrorism security checks at entrances and exits. All people who enter the two airports as well as their belongings will be subject to the new security inspections.
According to Provision 34 of China's counter-terrorism law, it states that security inspections must take place on people, objects, and vehicles that enter venues of large events, airports, railway stations, docks, subways, bus terminals, and ports.
Shanghai Airport Authority reminds people to not carry any prohibited articles such as flammable substances, explosives, and knives, and to please arrive at the airports earlier to account for the extra time taken for the checks.
